Prof. GJV Prasad has served as the Fourth Chairperson of IACLALS (2014- Feb. 2020).
Brief Bio:
Professor G.J.V. Prasad recently retired as Professor of English from the Centre for English Studies, School of Language Literature and Culture Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has been a part of several academic organizations of international repute, including IASA.
With four decades of teaching experience, Prof. Prasad’s major research interests are Indian writing in English, Indian Literatures, Contemporary Theatre, Dalit Writings, Australian Literature and Translation Theory. Prof. Prasad has edited JSL, the prestigious Journal of the School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies of JNU for the past several years. More than seventy students have completed their doctoral work under his supervision so far, and a similar number of M.Phil. students have completed their dissertations.
Prof. Prasad has been a Visiting Professor and Visiting scholar in India and abroad including University of Paris, University of Cyprus, Nicosia, University of Essex, Colchester, UK, Grinnell College, Iowa, USA.
