About IACLALS

IACLALS, the Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies in India (Regd.), is the officially recognized Indian chapter of the international ACLALS . It was instituted in India in 1974.

Its objectives are to promote and coordinate Postcolonial / Commonwealth Literature Studies in India, organize seminars and workshops, and arrange lectures by writers and scholars, including international visitors.

It also holds an Annual Conference in collaboration with various universities and institutions across India.

The international ACLALS began in 1964 with its first conference at the University of Leeds.
